Waste Disposal

Heartland Waste provides trash, Curbside Yard Waste Pick Up and optional Curbside Recycling Pick Up services for Richmond residents. These services are billed on the monthly utility billing statements from the City. Discounts are available for seniors 65 and older. Simply fill out and return the Application for Senior Citizen Solid Waste Discount along with a copy of your identification.  Contact City Hall at 816-776-5304 if you have any questions.

HOLIDAY TRASH AND CURBSIDE RECYCLING COLLECTION SCHEDULE
Heartland Waste provides trash and recycling collection services on all Holidays with the exception of the following:
* New Years Day
* Memorial Day
* 4th of July
* Labor day
* Thanksgiving
* Christmas
* New Year’s Day

TRASH
Heartland Waste will remove up to 10 bags, boxes or cans each week or 9 bags, boxes or cans and 1 large item (excluding air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers). Trash can only be set at curb on day of trash pick-up.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

The City of Richmond is a member of the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program. Residents may drop-off their household hazardous waste at either permanent facility located in Kansas City and Lee’s Summit, or at any of the scheduled collection events. Both facilities are open year-round.
