DESCRIPTION:
The City of Richmond is accepting applications for Southview Pool Lifeguards. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and assist in maintaining the pool and surrounding area to desired standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A lifeguard employed with the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of those using the Southview Pool. A Lifeguard’s major responsibility is to observe swimmers and enforce regulations in the guarding of life and the prevention of accidents at the Southview Pool. Lifeguards may also teach swim lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicant must have strong swimming skills (must be able to swim 300 yards, swim to bottom of pool in the deep end, tread water for at least two minutes, etc), strong observational skills, strong communication skills, an excellent level of concentration, and the ability to keep calm and act quickly in an emergency. Applicants must be at least 15 years old and have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, or be able to obtain certification by May 25, 2024 or before their first day of lifeguarding. Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

SALARY:
Non-Exempt
Base salary: $12.50 per hour.

DESCRIPTION: The City of Richmond is accepting applications for a Fire Engineer/EMT with our Fire Department. Qualified applicants must be highly motivated, energetic professionals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: fire suppression activities, performs emergency rescue activities, provides emergency medical care, response to hazardous materials incidents, operations of associated equipment and apparatus; participate in training activities to maintain and improve the level of fire suppression and emergency medical skills, inspects and maintains equipment, performs preplans and fire inspections, and involvement in fire preventions programs
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 18 years of age; High School graduate or equivalent; possess a valid Missouri Driver’s License with no restrictions; a driving record that demonstrates responsible and safe driving behavior; applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of a Firefighter/EMT; and must live within 15 minutes response time or willing to relocate during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Missouri State Certified Firefighter I & II
• Missouri State Certified in Hazardous Materials Response
• State Certified and Licensed Emergency Medical Technician

DESCRIPTION: The City of Richmond is accepting applications for a Water Plant Operator.  This position is responsible for the day to day operations of the Water Treatment Plant.  Must be able to perform and understand all lab tests that are required for plant operations, and mechanical ability to make minor adjustments and repairs to operating equipment.

Qualifications: Successful applicant must have graduated high school or trade school or equivalent, valid Missouri drivers’ license, and proficient in basic computer skills.  Candidates who possess a Class A, B or C Drinking Water Treatment and Water DS I or II certification issued by Missouri DNR will have special consideration.  No relocation provided.

 EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Provides highly complex administrative support to City Administrator, ensuring that proper department records are maintained, providing oral and written responses to inquiries, making referrals to other appropriate departments for information, using tact and judgment, and applying knowledge of diverse administrative operations.

Research information from readily and non-readily available sources. Coordinates the gathering of information from various departments in assisting in drafting and preparation of contracts, real estate transactions, other documents to ensure necessary provisions are contained therein. Assists in operation and administration of departmental budget.

Drafts letters, reports, resolutions, contracts, leases, and other documents and instruments; proofs for accuracy, and proper format, terminology, and procedures. Responds to requests and inquiries of City officials, Department Directors, and Citizens.

Logs, summarizes, and maintains departmental records, processes payments and other departmental paperwork.

Serves as a contact person in answering inquiries and complaints; provides information related to the work of the office to the public, and various County, State, and other public and private agencies and entities, routinely obtaining information as requested or needed.
