Knowledge in computer, 10 key, ability to correctly count change, use of Microsoft products, general accounting and bookkeeping and office management principles and practices. Ability to deal effectively with the public.  Ability to work independently and carry out all phases of the collection process with minimum supervision.  Ability to exercise sound judgment and always remain available to the citizens of Richmond and the administration interpret and apply rules and regulations and establish and maintain a good working relationship with city officials and staff.

DESCRIPTION:
The City of Richmond is accepting applications for Southview Pool Lifeguards. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies and assist in maintaining the pool and surrounding area to desired standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A lifeguard employed with the City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of those using the Southview Pool. A Lifeguard’s major responsibility is to observe swimmers and enforce regulations in the guarding of life and the prevention of accidents at the Southview Pool. Lifeguards may also teach swim lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicant must have strong swimming skills (must be able to swim 300 yards, swim to bottom of pool in the deep end, tread water for at least two minutes, etc), strong observational skills, strong communication skills, an excellent level of concentration, and the ability to keep calm and act quickly in an emergency. Applicants must be at least 15 years old and have a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, or be able to obtain certification by May 27, 2023 or before their first day of lifeguarding. Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Base salary: $12.00 per hour.

DESCRIPTION:
The City of Richmond is accepting applications for Southview Pool Supervisors. This position
is responsible for the safe overall daily operation of the Southview Swimming Pool, including
supervising pool staff, supervising front gate staff, and supervising the concession staff. This
position will also oversee conduct of pool events, ensuring collection and security of revenue,
keep daily records of attendance and chemical use, overseeing events/ swim lessons, attending
in-service training, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicant must have strong communication skills, familiar with general pool
operations, previous experience as a lifeguard or in a pool setting; customer focused, good
conflict resolution skills, ability to swim and obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First
Aid/CPR/AED Certification, or be able to obtain certification by June 1, 2023. Applicants must
be available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

SALARY:
Non-Exempt
Base salary $12.50 /hour

DESCRIPTION:
The City of Richmond is accepting applications for Southview Pool Concession Workers, Ball Field Concession Workers, Gym Concession Workers, and Southview Pool Front Gate Attendants. Concession positions are responsible for all operations within the concession stand for the day. This includes counting inventory, preparing the stand for the day, taking orders for food and beverages, presenting prices, processing cash payments, operating food preparation equipment, and maintaining the stands to be clean and sanitized.

There are two types of concession workers:
1) Pool Concessions: this worker will also work at the pool as the front gate attendant on select days.
2) Other Concessions: this worker will work at the ball field concession stand and concessions in the City Gym.

Front Gate Attendants will monitor the front gate of the Southview Pool, manage transactions, assure that the “sign in sheet” is being filled out correctly, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful applicant must have strong communication skills, must be courteous and friendly, and must be able to handle money responsibly. Applicants must be at least be 14 years of age available to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

SALARY:
Non-Exempt
Base salary $12.00/hour
