Water Main Replacement Project Set to Begin July 7, 2025

The City of Richmond is moving forward with a major water infrastructure upgrade to replace over 19,500 linear feet of aging waterlines throughout several neighborhoods. Construction is scheduled to begin July 7, 2025, and will be carried out by VF Anderson Construction.

This project is made possible through funding from the $5 million General Obligation Bonds voters approved in 2022.

  • Benton St. (Crispin to E North Main)
  • Ottman St. (Crispin to E North Main)
  • Bates St. (Ralph to Ottman)
  • S. Camden St. (W Lexington to W South)
  • W. Lexington St. (S Camden to S College)
  • South 2nd St. (W Royle to S Camden)
  • Joseph St. (Cunningham to dead end)
  • E. Black Diamond St. (N College to Ralph)
  • S. Camden/State Hwy T (915 S Camden to Southview Dr)
  • Trigg St. to Hamil St. to E. Lexington St.

What to Expect
Construction will begin on the south end of the project area and progress north. Residents along impacted streets will receive formal notification before work begins in their area. Temporary disruptions to water service or access may occur but will be communicated in advance.

This investment reflects the City’s long-term commitment to providing safe, reliable infrastructure while honoring the trust of voters who approved the General Obligation Bond in 2022.
