The City of Richmond has begun the building of a reflection pond at Richmond Memory Gardens Cemetery. The fountain has been purchased and the electrical installation will be completed once the pond is built. This area with a water feature will be the cornerstone of a serene landscape and contributes to the statement of identity for the cemetery. Quiet reflective space and entrance statements are critical to expressing a cemetery’s mission of being a beautiful place where visitors can honor and reflect on the memory of their loved ones while enjoying the views and sounds of water. This project conception began two years ago and is becoming a reality. The City of Richmond has also started additional seeding throughout Memory Gardens. The community will be informed of the progress as the project moves forward and as we build on this.
