COVID-19 Information

05-04-20

We appreciate your patience as we navigate these uncharted waters, and please know that your elected officials and City staff are working diligently to maintain city services while keeping the health and safety of our employees as a priority.

 {City Hall and Staff}
The City Hall Lobby is open to the public. In accordance with the State of Missouri Show Me Strong Order, there needs to be at least 6-feet between individuals and social distancing. In order to protect staff and the public, there will only be 4 people allowed in the lobby at a time. Please do not enter the building if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or think you may have been exposed.

 {Utility Information}
We recognize the importance of regular and frequent hand washing and proper cleaning of surfaces in preventing COVID-19. In response to this need, the City of Richmond will not disconnect any utilities until further notice. We ask that you keep your payments current and communicate with us if circumstances arise when you may become delinquent on your account. Customers are encouraged to make an online payment or enroll in automatic bank payment at https://ubi.gworks.com/richmondmo/.  Other payment options include a secure payment drop box at City Hall or mailing your payment to City of Richmond, 205 Summit St, Richmond, MO  64085.

 {Police Department}
Public Safety continues to be a high priority. The Richmond Police Department is staffing each shift the same as we do during normal operations. In an effort to keep our officers healthy, we will work to limit their person to person contact on non-emergency issues that may arise. We may require police reports to be filed over the phone on incidents that are not an imminent threat to public safety. Until further notice, the front door of the Police Department will remain locked. Signage will be clearly posted on the front door of the Police Department indicating in the event of an emergency to call 9-1-1 and will further note to reach Police Department staff regarding a non-emergent issue by calling 816-776-3575. An assessment will be conducted on the nature of the request or need, and for extenuating circumstances only will anyone be allowed into the lobby of the Police Department. Again, our goal is to minimize the potential health risks associated with our officer’s exposures to COVID-19 to keep the department fully staffed.

{Fire Department}
The Richmond Fire Department is also staffing each shift the same as we do during normal operations. In an effort to keep our firefighters healthy, we will work to limit their person to person contact on non-emergency issues that may arise. Until further notice, the front door of the Fire Station will remain locked.  Our goal is to minimize the potential health risks associated with our officer’s exposures to COVID-19 to keep the department fully staffed.

 {Parks and Recreation}

 {Community Development Department}
Building Inspections and Code Enforcement will continue to perform all necessary functions.  Due to City Hall closing temporarily, please call 816-776-5304 ext. 112 to request permit information or to schedule an inspection.  We will be continually available to also discuss any codes enforcement issues.
