The City of Richmond offers grants to help residents and businesses improve sidewalks and drainage issues on their property. The City designates a portion of the Transportation Tax Fund to be utilized as 50/50 grants to assist property owners who wish to replace broken, deteriorated sidewalks or drainage system piping or install new sidewalks or drainage system piping in the City right-of-way on their property. Property owners must fill out an application. If awarded, the City will grant 50% of costs up to $3,000 for the lowest of 3 bids. Right of Way permit is required. Both programs are managed by the Community Development Department.
Applications must be completed and submitted to the Community Development Department. All sidewalk and drainage policies and standards must be followed. Please contact Community Development at 816-776-5304 for more information.
