Did you know customers are responsible for any damages to their water meters or its appurtenances that are caused by negligence, or failure to safeguard the meter and its equipment from hazards?
If while mowing or other reason, this lid is removed and the meter’s equipment is damaged or destroyed, an invoice may be sent to the property owner or tenant for the cost of replacing the equipment.
If the invoice is not paid within 30 days, the cost to repair or replace the meter will be added to the customer’s water bill. So before doing yard work, double check the meter lid!
