The 2019 project is almost complete! Each of the 4 Wards in the City benefited from this year’s mill and overlay project. Improvements were made on a total 18 city streets in need of repair.
Each year, the City of Richmond Public Works Department bids out mill and overlay services. The selected contractor performs milling of the existing pavement. The milling process is followed by the contractor adding new asphalt pavement to the street. The entire process for each street takes approximately 3 days.
